Munster Studios Ireland

From 2021, over three years, two comprehensive LEO & EI funded reports were completed with the aim of “turning Munster into an Animation & CreaTECH Powerhouse”. Background: The reports, ‘Kickstarting the Animation Sector in Munster’ (2021) & ‘Munster Animation Cluster’ - ‘strategic plan’ (2023) informed the emerging business group within the MAC Cluster - of the work needed to develop the foundation of Munster Studios Ireland as a CLG to grow the Animation & CreaTECH Sectors in Munster, Ireland.

Phase#1
1st January to 30th June 2026 - Funding €686,000 As detailed in Munster Studios Budget Submission 2025, significant funding is to be raised to finance the creation and the development of Phase 1 of Munster Studios Ireland CLG. The foundation of this goal will be achieved through the amalgamation of 5 studios & agreement of our members at an AGM on March 12th 2025. This with the express purpose of creating sustainable employment in the following rapidly-growing tech sectors: 2D & 3D Animation; VR, XR; VFX; Interactive Gaming & EdTech.

Market Opportunity:
In 10 years the CreaTECH market is set to DOUBLE!

Ireland's CreaTech sector is renowned and respected globally. Yet, despite its many successes, the sector faces real challenges, due to the lack of regional planning and failure to create a stable sustainable workforce. Some progress is being made within the area being prioritised by government and state agencies. Munster, which has a quarter of Ireland’s population, is outside and is not getting its fair share of support.

The Munster Studios - ‘Stronger Together’ initiative has been funded to date solely by individuals - members of an emerging business group within Munster Animation Cluster (MAC) seeking to address the unbalanced and unfair treatment of the Animation &CreaTECH sectors in Munster.

Munster Studios Co-Working Space

We received a number of requests asking about the development of an Animation & CreaTECH Co-Working Space. Our initial research found a successful model. CREW (Galway) - a collaborative initiative founded by the Atlantic Technological University (ATU), the Western Development Commission (WDC) and Ardán. Depending on the demand and interest of our membership we believe that it would be possible to develop a Co-working Space in Munster. >>> here
